In other very important news, Lizzie now has a full name...
Katya Elizabeth Knorr!
Katya - pure
Elizabeth - God's promise
We knew that Lizzie's middle name would be Elizabeth (for one thing, this is my grandmother's middle name). John the Baptist's mother, Elizabeth, waited many years for her child and experienced sorrow in the waiting. Her joy was so much the greater for her wait. We share in her sorrow in our loss of Treye and in the waiting for Lizzie. The Father has not promised us a child, but He has promised never to leave us. We are grateful for God's promise to walk with us in all sorrow and to be our joy and our song. We have experienced (and continue to experience) His healing, His love, His guidance, His peace. We wait in hopeful anticipation and joy in this little girl's life...for she is truly living even now. He knows the days that He has planned for her, and we revel in each one of them.
We struggled with Lizzie's first name. Many that we had talked about in the last ten years had been taken by family or close friends. Some didn't seem to fit this little girl. We finally decided that something that had significance to both of us...a connection we shared...would be a perfect representation of our love for one another resulting in our love for our daughter. A Russian name seemed appropriate. We met in Russian, fell in love over Russian, lived in Russia, left part of our heats in Russia...a Russian name fits. Now, unfortunately, there are not many pretty girl's names in Russian! The strength needed to live in Russia does not lend itself to beautiful and delicate naming. :) As we searched, we stumbled across Katya, which we both grew to love. As Katya means pure, we hope to raise our daughter in the pure milk of the Word of God that she may grow in pure love for Him and for others. May this purity root deep in her heart, and may He use her mightily all the days of her life!
Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for us and for our little one. We appreciate your prayers for our vacation time. It was restful, beautiful, and full of family love! What a delightful trip!
With all our hearts!

Love it, love it, love it! Tap dancing on Danny's hand...hehe. Such a precious gift to share in the memories being made so early in Lizzie's life. Thanks for the update!
Love y'all!
I, too, love it, Amy! It is lovely and perfect and so fitting for your family. Even though I haven't seen her, I feel like her name is already the perfect match. Can't wait to see her!
Love you, too, friend. Shan
Love the post! I always appreciate hearing how a couple decides on a name- lovely!!! (holding Luke who is cramping my ability to type more!)
